University of Alberta Van Vliet Centre (U of A East/West Pool)

Note: The "Butterdome" (Universiade Pavilion) is now part of Van Vliet, but
does not house the pools.

Note: There is limited parking right next to the building, but it is 24-hour reserved,
and there are no entrances to the building on that side.

Special note: The Aquatic Centre has two pools: East and West.
The West Pool is formally called the "Winslow and Christian Hamilton Memorial Pool".
The West Pool is deeper and normally used for synchro.

Special note 2: On entry, the women's change room are on the RIGHT, which is the
OPPOSITE direction from the West Pool.

From the Education Car Park, find an exit stairwell and descend to ground level.

Turn left. Go to the end of the block.

Turn right. Cross 114 St NW.

Proceed past that giant funnel building and the bear statue.
Note: Behind the bear statue you will see an entrance marked "Van Vliet Complex". Don't go in here.

The pool is to the left, but the women's change rooms and information desk are both to the right.

Marcos Famous Donair and Subway are north in the Students Union Building.
There is considerable seating available.
